We invite you to
consider support the Center for Armenian
Remembrance (CAR). CAR is dedicated to both
remembering our past and crafting our future.
CAR is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and any
donation you make is tax deductible.
The Armenians have always been a proud and
strong people striving to better their
collective condition. However, history has not
been kind to the Armenian people, especially in
the last 120 years. Since the Hamidian Massacres
of the 1890s, the Armenian Genocide of 1915-23,
and the Baku massacres of the early part of the
20th century, almost 2 million Armenians have
perished at the hands of Turkish aggression and
more than a million were forced from their
ancestral homeland, never to return.
Our Center is therefore dedicated to remembrance
of our history, culture and people, as well as,
activism to write our own future. So, “Never
Again” will be a reality, for Armenians, Jews,
Cambodians, Rwandans, Darfurians, and all the
people of the world.
However, the cycle of Genocide continues, when
parts of our collective history is forgotten or
remains untold. To that end, CAR is committed to
publishing new works about Armenian history and
historical events. In November, the Center for
Armenian Remembrance published the first in a
series of novels about historical Armenian
figures, “The Case of Misak Torlakian.” The next
book in the series, “The Case of Soghomon
Tehlirian”, will come out in January of 2007, to
be followed by “Vahan Cardashian: Advocate
Extraordinaire of the Armenian Cause” and
“British Policy and the Armenian-Greek Section”,
to come out in March of 2007.
Most importantly, the Center has begun the work
of putting a name, and if possible a face, to
those who survived, while remembering those who
perished. In what has been characterized as the
largest Armenian Genealogical project to be
conducted, CAR will be digitalizing the
biographies of over 14,000 orphans of the
Genocide and placing them on-line at our
website, CenterAR.com.
To achieve our goals and continue the great work
which the Center for Armenian Remembrance has
already undertaken, we need your support. We
invite you to make a tax deductible donation to
the Center for Armenian Remembrance (CAR) so
that we can continue funding research,
digitalizing orphan biographies, supporting
Armenian authors, and educating the community.
